Don Pedro Restaurant
About This Spot
Walking into Don Pedro Restaurant feels like stepping into a familiar corner of Portland where the vibrant energy of a neighborhood fast food spot hums quietly beneath the air. The space carries a steady, welcoming rhythm — neither rushed nor fussy — where the warmth comes less from decor and more from the everyday connections forged over shared meals.
Here, the pace slows just enough to savor the simple pleasure of good, honest Mexican comfort food. The kitchen churns out hearty plates where traditional flavors blend with a casual, unpretentious spirit. Whether it’s the tender pull of slow-cooked beef cheeks or the lively zest of a fresh ceviche, each bite feels rooted in time-tested recipes, embraced by a no-frills approach you can trust.
At Don Pedro, people come as they are — from hardworking locals looking for a satisfying lunch to families gathering around generous portions that invite conversation and comfort. The atmosphere carries that reliable neighborhood feeling, where familiar faces nod in recognition and service aims to feel helpful even if not perfectly polished. It’s a spot where the emphasis is on the food’s genuine character and the ease of slipping into a meal that belongs to many traditions, yet feels distinctly personal.
The menu’s generous spirit shines through in plates that invite sharing and discovery: fish plates seasoned just right, burritos packed with hearty fillings, and simple tacos that remind you that great ingredients need little adornment. Each dish is a quiet reminder that fast food doesn’t have to be fast or fleeting — it can be warm, fulfilling, and memorable in its own steady way.
Don Pedro’s charm is found not just in the flavors but in the ambience of a place that knows its community well and reflects it back in the easiest way — a meal made to feel like a moment of pause, a taste of tradition, and a little spark of everyday joy.

For the most part, the people are great here. However, I have had very bad service from 1 young lady twice. I didn't get what I paid for and so I came back to see if I could get it replaced. She spoke English to me and spanish to the manager. She said that I was lying. Apparently, she thought that I didn't speak Spanish or that I couldn't understand her. I'm truly disappointed. Outside of that experience, I have always had a pleasant and tasty visit!

Love me some Don P's. I work near this location and visit often. Great food and service.

I gave them a 4 star because tortillas were more in the cold side then hot, same with asada meat, but it was still good. The portion is very good too for the price.
